Find quick answers for most common questions

What kind of abrasive is used?

The preferred abrasive is recycled bottle glass due to its ability to be used for a wide range of jobs, and it’s one of the best eco-friendly materials. If you choose to use another blast media, you need to make sure it has minimal trash and consistent particle size. Lots of debris or dirt will turn into mud inside the machine.

Will sandblasting cause warping?

In the majority of cases No. Since friction and heat are reduced by water and warping only occurs when the metal heats up due to the friction of dry abrasive. The thickness and shape of the material or part also plays a factor.

Will sandblasting damage chrome or glass?

Any kind of abrasive blasting can damage glass and chrome. We always recommend removing glass and chrome pieces before starting the process.

Will rust form since water is used?

We use a particular formula rust inhibitor to prevent flash rust, which lasts up to 72 hours. This inhibitor gets added to the blast water and helps prevent flash rust during the blasting process and then used to rinse after blasting is complete.

Why do we use glass instead of other sandblasting abrasives?

We’ve realized the safety and environmental benefits of glass blasting, so we’ve committed to using it for our processes. Crushed glass delivers a natural, whiter metal finish than many other sandblasting abrasives. It also significantly decreases embedment issues. Glass also works considerably better for removing thick, tough coatings and numerous surface preparation applications. By using glass, it can create a profile of up to 4 mils on hardened steel.

Is crushed glass dangerous?

We picked crushed glass because it’s the safest hard abrasive around. The recycled bottled glass is manufactured so that even if you put your hand in a bag and moved it around, it would never cut you.

Why should I choose sandblasting over other methods?

While soda blasting is another eco-friendly option, many of the jobs we do for non-industrial companies require a quick, clean, cost-effective approach. Sandblasting provides a more efficient surface for bonding, painting, or coating.

Where will you perform the sandblasting?

We only offer mobile services and we come to you! We serve South Florida primarily but we can also serve the West Coast of Florida and Central Florida as well in some cases.
